Wild Kamairicha is a kamairicha. That means it is a Japanese green tea made by pan frying the leaves. Typically, Japanese green tea is steamed, however in the case of Kamairicha this process is instead replaced with a pan frying. As a result, the flavor isn't as astringent as usual Japanese green teas but prevents further oxidation until the leaves get brewed.

This pan frying process bakes in the high levels of vitamin C, A, B1, B2, and niacin of the leaves. It also gives the leaves about 50 mg of caffeine per 5 grams brewed over 1 minute. Beyond the vitamins and caffeine, Wild Kamairicha contains flavonoids which improves heart health through lowering blood pressure, triglycerides and total cholesterol. It is also anti-inflammatory, and contains a small dose of l-theanine. L-theanine might improve mental function and reduce stress, however data is inconclusive on these l-theanine benefits.

Tea began as a medicine and grew into a beverage. That does not mean that the benefits have gone away, they've just taken a back seat. When we stop and observe how good tea is not just in flavor but for our health, we can see that it's an exceptional beverage as a daily driver. So what are you waiting for? Try some Wild Kamairicha today!
